Attending Pride can be an exciting and empowering experience, whether it's your first pride or 50th! Attending Pride can give you an opportunity to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and show support for equality and acceptance. But with so many events happening at once, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. In this blog, we’ll share five tips to help you make the most of your Pride experience.

Planning. Planning. Planning.

You’ve probably heard of pride parades, but most towns & cities have weekend long events. Some of these events may require tickets. You can often buy your tickets online, buying in advance can often help you save money. Head to our Pride Event Calendar to find out all the details of your chosen pride.

Top Tip: Make sure you buy any tickets through official outlets, you can often find tickets on different online marketplaces, however there’s no guarantee they will be valid.

Water is your best friend

Keeping hydrated is a must, you’ll easily spend over 12 hours attending a pride parade. Stay smart and make sure you’re drinking plenty of water.

Top Tip: More and more pride events have places to refill a water bottle. Make sure you bring one with you.

Stay comfortable

While you might want to use the occasion as an opportunity to show off your 12-inch heels. You’ll thank yourself for wearing comfortable trainers, if you think your trainers need an upgrade why not add some laces to them.

Keep fully charged

Before you head out of the house make sure your phones at 100%, you’ll be taking loads of photos, videos and sharing them online. If your able to pack a portable charger with you, you’ll always be fully charged.

Choose a meeting point

If you’re traveling with a group of friends, it’s a good idea to come up with a meeting point if you ever lose someone. Prides can be loud and often mobile phone networks can be overwhelmed so you might not be able to call/message your group.
